The photographs are part of “Blow-ups” series of 60 photographs and from the exhibition Il n'y a plus rien à voir are made from the backs of Polaroids — the hidden underside usually discarded once an image develops. By altering the chemistry that migrates across this concealed surface, Azarzar lets accident and reaction act as an autonomous medium. Each back is then scanned and enlarged far beyond its original scale, and what emerges from these micro-accidents are vast cosmic landscapes: nebulae, terrains, atmospheres. The work sits between painting and photography, between technical residue and pictorial surface, between the microscopic and the infinite. What seemed insignificant — the part no one was meant to look at — turns out to already contain worlds.
